People who just breath with their lungs have shallow breathings and use little oxygen. Breathing with the “belly” is a natural way of breathing and thus more oxygen to the body. A clearer explonation is that this breathing is controled by the diafragm. By using the muscle the breathing becomes more powerful. The lungs swell fully and are completely emptied. By playing the didgeridoo, the diafragm becomes very strong and the lungs get more resistence.

It takes much energy and strength to play the didgeridoo with different sounds. That means that the body must work hard to provide the energy. In the beginning of playing the didgeridoo, people become quickly aware that the body gains little oxygen. Cramps and light attacks of hyperventilation follow. The cells in the body heathens and a biologic proces of intracellular burning is activated. By this the body is magnitezed and that stimulates normal functioning of bodycells, the nervesystem and it slows the heartbeat. This causes a peristaltic movement of the organs so that they can function (more) natural.

Breathing means taking the elements of air in and disposing bodily waste. If you use the diafragm consciously to controle the breathing, the breathing will become very natural. If you use the oxygen consciously, the breathing becomes very powerful. With a powerful breathing the body can achieve amazing results and regains a quick recovery.

The above is one of the many processes when the didgeridoo is played. The combination of controling the circular breathing and muscle contraction to come to a rhytmic play ensures that the body is refreshed.
